Extra credit final

1. The man was harassed  and then he was pushed by the man who was harassing the 58 year old Ki Shuk Han. He was able to take the photo becuase trying to warn the train that someone fell down.
2. He said that he tried warn the driver but it did not work and he had token some photos on the ways it was coming.
3. I do not think he should have token the photo because you should have at least tried to pull him up because even with broken legs, he could have been saved.
4. I think he only helped partly because he flashed his camera and instead should have helped him and pulled him up.
5.  I think it was not a good idea because they will get a lot of pressure by the public and I  think the lost a profit with putting that on the magazine.
 6. I think to a photo journalist, it is the image that matters. This is basically life unfolding in front of them because there are photographers that take photos of and animal killing another animal. The more dramatic, the better the picture to them.
7. I do not think it is ethically right to take a photo of a person dying when you had the chance to make a difference. Instead of taking the photo he had a split second which could result with him alive. The man could be alive but then, this is what he does for a living which is what we forget.
8. They should with a human because in society human lives are more worthy.  Not  with animals because you want nature to unfold from prey to predator.
9. That he was flashing his camera and waving trying to get the attention of the driver. RThis at least puts an image that he tried.

This is in India and the helicopters are here to make sure everyone follows the laws. These helicopters were sent to gun down anyone that does not follow the law and it happened yesterday.

2.

 8. framing- This normally two things in your photo that frame your main subject.
9. cropping- This is what you do to make something smaller.
10. mergers and avoiding- It is something that is randomly in there or it mess with your view of the photo.

 3.

Photoshop

1. They changed her neck length, shoulder height, eye's height and width, Her face was made smaller too.
2.He or she made things shorter, he made her legs longer, removed creases and made the neck longer too. He changed her skin color and made her face smaller.
3.He or she took away most of the fat and changed her skin color a little. He made the butt smaller and her arms , face, etc.
4. I think it is very unethical because they are losing that natural appearance that is true. This tricks your ind into thinking something else.
5.Yes, because if you do it to a wedding photo or such, then it is ruining the moment.
6. Maybe if you are trying to look good in front of someone or trying to change something that went horribly wrong.
7.Photojournalism is actually real while fashion photos are fake from the start.
8.A photograph has a connection sometimes because it shows hard times and happy time and can have different definitions and it affects the ethical practice because of lot of fake stuff is put in.
9.You are showing us these videos to show how tainted fashion photography is.
10. It is because females are the most looked upon, they need to be beautiful and for men, they really do not care.

This is the most funniest way to put stocks into real life. This is really funny to more and I like it.  This my favorite of all magazine covers I have seen so far in my life I think. They sort of put the joke in and then put the real deal in it causing you to understand it pretty fast. This is a good way to portal stocks.

American Soldier Slide Show And Captions

1. I think the most powerful picture was the one with the boy making a gun with his hand and pretend shooting them. This shows you what war did to this kid and how it will probably continue to affect more children.
2.
Home: 1-9
Basic training: 16-29
In Iraq:51-70
Back in Denver:71-82
I think the in Iraq ones are the most powerful because it shows the damage that war has cause and how he fights for both america and Iraq.

3. They work together because they are the order of where his military career starts and continues going.

4. they say it in present but sometimes in past, but mostly present.

5. They enhance it by giving you the story in the picture. This gives you the insight of his troubles and his emotions generally.

6. 51
Ian is getting ready for his experience as he cradles his gun.
54. Ian is at night and sees how beautiful it is here at night.

Self portrait assignment

1.

Obscure Part of your Subject

Alter Your Perspective

2.
I like this picture because you see the vastness of cranberries and just one person in this area, him.

I like this picture because you see this lady working very hard, but she is alone and it makes you fell like tho picture has a deeper meaning.
This one is a bizarre self portrait and does not make much sense to me, I do not know but it does look that there is a method in her madness. That is why I picked it.

This person, I think, is to look cool to which i agree. This self portrait does look cool and maybe, inspiring.
This man,I choose for, looks like he means business. He has a slight professional smile and is ready to do anything. He looks proffesional.

This man has a playful tone, that is why I picked him. He looks like a jokester really.
This is very cool on how the photographer took the picture and the guy in the bike.
This is also cool because he is fighting his way up to go again.

I will do a  photo shoot of my family members and people I know. I will do different types, not the same one. I hope to get good photos in this photo shoot.

Aperture

1. I think we should relate it to the head because thats the most interesting part.
2. The smaller the aperture, the bigger the circle. The bigger the aperture, the smaller the circle.
3.Your aperture helps create a depth of field. You can increase and decrease your capture but it deeply impacts the depth of field.

 1. I would use a high stutter speed so that I can capture the moment. This way you can see clearly and see the moment.
a. I would use a low shutter speed.
b.I would use a high shutter speed.
c.I would use high.
d.I would use high.
eI would use high.
f.I would use low.
2.
a.High
b. Low

Abandoned theme parks

1. I actually like all of them and want to go to all of them because they interest me.  I want to go to all of them but do not want to be arrested for that. I  think you can get good photos there and should have a field trip.  I would go with Pripyat though because it is a shoe city and you can explore all of it.
2.

3.
1.A ghost town .
2. Going to an abandoned theatre.
3. An abandoned palace .
4. a abandoned military base .
5. abandoned city.
6.abandoned ship.

4 & 5

This is a sunken city in the ocean. This was in china but sank because of a flooding and the land was lost too. This city was found over 1,400 years ago and is still a monument, but under water. This would be nice to look at because this must be the only city found that has sunken. I want to take photos of the temples and buildings there.
6. I would not get caught by the law because this is legal and the expenses might be a lot or not to ugh. I will need to buy scuba gear and fill the tanks with oxygen, I will need a flight there and I need to hire a boat driver to take me to the location but they probably have tourism places there. I will also need a water proof which are expensive so this will probably be a very costly trip.

Africa

1.  I see that the people who took these photos are talented and that they have a passion for this. The photos do have a few distractors but other than that you see the animal that catches your eye.I think that the rob ably took a lot of waiting but was worth it at the end.
2.

3.It is a photo of an animal skull and 4 giraffes walking in the distance. I like it because of the barren desert and the animal skull puts on a deathly feeling and  then you see two giraffes walking in the distance. IT sort of puts the barren feeling and the mountains and giraffe sort of extinguish it.

4.Rule of thirds is there because of the skull is in the middle, there is a little simplicity is the soul on the dark ground.

5. I could not find it.
6. He thinks that humans are the same as animals and that he wants to capture there spirit.
7. He wants to bring awareness of animals and how they are.
8."You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close." ( animals in africa)

Funny captions

This man's name is Fred, Fred is telling me he was a peaceful man until he started playing call of duty.Fred says that this is the time for the old man revolution and learned all about guns from playing a lot of call of duty. Fred loves call of duty!

Her name is Velma,  Velma is now t school and is like this all the time since she hates everyone and is smiling because she needs to disguise it. She likes to do that at school because this is true. Great black and white photographers part 3

1. One theme could be is school life or homework. It shows people who are studying, so it looks professional and not people goofing off much.
2. We should use camera phones since it will be an interesting twist but if people do not have a phone, then cameras is the way to go!
3. Either in the cafeteria or in he courtyard or up front. This would be the best places to hang the murals.

1.
This caught my eye because you can see a man backflipping in joy and that is what caught my attention. You can see he is literally jumping in joy. This caught my eye because the photographer took the picture at the right time showing the joy in the man.

2. The devils slide photo.
I see the  clouds in the distance, outlined by the moons glow.
I smell the sea water as it sloshes below me.
I hear the water sloshing around and the salty breeze of the ocean.
I taste the salt water as it sprays on my face.
I feel a little sick and want to stop.
Enchanted tree photo
I see the huge tree lumbering over all.
I smell the grass as the smell climbed all over me.
I hear the animals in the distance , talking to each other.
I taste the air as it taste like freshly cut grass.
I feel good today and  everything is fine.
 3. I would like to take picture and post them on a poster. I would like to take pictures of anything really .

Academic photo shoot reflection and critique

1.  I think a problem I was facing was trying to find simplicity ,balance or something interesting. Also I was a little afraid to go into classrooms, because it wood be awkward for me even though I have the classes. I was just afraid to burst into a classroom and just to ask pictures while people posing and everything.
2. I was thinking about framing more than everything else. That was scaring me that I would not find a good example for it but my first one was pretty good. I did focus pretty good and framing like my framing photo, it was a really good one. It was framed by the two wooden panels.
3. I would go exploring a little  because I wanted to find better pictures. I did to exactly find good photos because I did not get to go to my classes because they were taking tests. So it was really hard to get take good photos.  I also wanted a better simplicity picture.
4. I liked my framing because it is framed pretty well by the two wooden line. My lines were pretty good because you can see them every where ,but mostly i hunk i have ok ones.
5.I think the easiest is lines because they are everywhere. Also just look for something that looks like a line.
6. I think simplicity would be hard because none of the class rooms are really that simple. THe only way is to move someone.
7. I'm not totally clear on balance. I have asked friend and such and i will try to get to the website with all the terms.

academic shoot photoshop

balance

Framing
simplicity( Could not get  a good one for simplicity)
Rule of thirds
Lines
1.I did pretty well but I had a hard time with simplicity and balance but other than that i think i did pretty well. 2.The subject was education but in mine, it was more studying. I you look in all the pictures you will see everyone doing there work or studying. They are the same meaning but when you think of education you think of studying 3.Yes because they are all studying or doing some kind of work. 4. I should have gone exploring more and liked for some other things like for balance or simplicity.

describing a photo "Trust Fall"

1. I picked trust fall because it seemed pretty cool and scary.
2. She is in the rule of thirds and there are no mergers.

1. I would find it either science or in art.
2. I would probably only do science and art.
3. I will need to zoom in and get good lighting in the photo.

filling the frame

This is framed by the roof and the desk, and it ids filled in by them and the other things like posters, the explosion, etc. You can see it is perfectly framed and even though you look at the back ground, it is still a pretty cool photo.

Action and Emotion

This has action and emotion because they are showing respect to the flag.  The lighting also sets the mood to the emotion and the people showing respect is the action.

story

This tells a interesting story to me because it is weird to see a kid be a teacher.  He is teaching a class  while he himself is a student. You can see him teach all the children or whoever he is teaching. The tells you that he is smart academically, and is not afraid.

Photo manipulation and ethics

A. There are rule to photo shop and some people do not follow these rules. Some people are care less with it and some ruin true photos to make it dramatic and when theory are found out, they will lose something.

B. This is unacceptable because it ruins the credibility of the photo and you may not see the true photos. For instance, the missile truck he took out could have helped us know about Iran. False communication never helps.

PROMPT 2

This (I think is unethical) because this event did not happen at all. This ,was not at all, true and did not take place. I do not like also because it tells us that we can't really trust news companies. This is unethical because it is untrue.

This ( I think is the least unethical) because this has not been changed much and it serves it's purpose. Plus the only things different are the way the soldier is,the man with the child and a bearded man with the right with black hair. Also there is not a man that used to be there but it serves it's purpose.

post shoot reflection

 link:http://avysphotojournalism.blogspot.com/2014/09/1st-prompt-shoot.html?showComment=1411148681471#c7277752046559903440

1. One of the challenges I faced was what should I take a photo of because of the many ideas that came up in my head  and the many that did not.
 2. The thing I focused on the most was zooming in and out, on the flowers I zoomed in on the flower letting you focus on just the flower and the background blurred out.
3. I would try to use the rule of thirds. That would help I think.
4. I think i would zoom in like I normally do.
5. I did use rule of thirds by accident but rarely did I use simplicity.
6. Yes, I think it was pretty fun when I could think for myself rather than do something that was preset already.

Falling Man reactions

I saw all the articles, and I think the falling man story is interesting and compelling. I think the second  with that one family talking about how that person was their father/husband was a pretty interesting story. I think that they are right because sometimes you feel that person you saw was someone close also, It could have been jonathan who fell down but nobody knows yet.

When I read about the photographer had also died,I felt like a part of history went away because that man had token a picture of one of the scariest picture during 9/11. I think that win the photographer died, he could not tell his grandchildren that he was one of the famous photographers who took a photo on that sad time in us history. This is my thought, what is yours?

mergers

This is a merger becuase they want you to look at the american flag, but the houses in the background draw your attention. That is why this is a merger.

framing

The explosion framed by the the two buildings. You can tell because the bright orange pops out and the buildings are framing it.

balance

This is framing becuase you can tell the direction the plane is going and you see a little of the building on the left and the building in front.

lines

There are lines on the road and on the sign. that is why there are lines.

rule of thirds

The explosions and the buildings are close to the rule of thirds. The buildings are on the points while the explosion is close.

simplicity

This is simplicity because you can only see the building on fire, the background it the clear blue sky.

National Geographic

I like this hoot because this would look like a photo of defiance. While the other stay low, this one shows it's self. While the others gave up, This one did not.

I would probably take a photo from India because there is always something happening there. Maybe a flood(like the latest one.) Maybe even something political, anything really.

Touching People

1. I don't like this project because it does not seem to be artistic to me in any way.
2. If someone did come to me with a camera and asked if he or she could touch me, i'd say no because you don't know who this person is.
3. I think like one with a person really close and a person far and make the closer one giant than the farther one and take pictures like that.
4. I do not like these photos. They just seem bland and boring to me,it's like a family picture but with strangers and touching. I do not want to do something like that and I do not like looking at them.
